SHOOTBOLT WITH KEEPER
J$3,391.30
A mechanical security locking component that physically locks the shutter in the closed position by extending a metal bolt (the shootbolt) into a fixed slot or plate (the keeper). It’s used to stop the shutter from being lifted, forced up, or opened from the outside when it’s closed.
What the parts do:
• Shootbolt – A strong metal rod that slides (or “shoots”) into place when the shutter is locked.
When engaged, the shootbolt physically blocks the shutter from rising or being forced open.
• Keeper – The receptacle or bracket mounted on the shutter frame or floor that the shootbolt goes into, giving the shootbolt a solid anchor point so the bolt can’t slip back out.

Additional Info
How it works
-
When you close the shutter and operate the lock, the shootbolt slides into the keeper.
-
That solid metal connection prevents the shutter from lifting or moving, adding a strong mechanical lock.
-
Some shootbolts work with a padlock, key, or internal locking mechanism depending on the shutter design.
Why it’s used
-
Adds security by physically locking the shutter at the bottom or side.
-
Prevents forced entry attempts like lifting or prying.
-
Often used alongside the shutter’s main motor or latch to improve anti-theft protection.
