TENSION WHEEL
J$6,956.52
A component used to apply and maintain the correct tension in the spring or drive assembly, so the shutter operates smoothly and reliably.
It adjusts or holds tension in the spring or winding mechanism that helps balance the weight of the shutter curtain.
Correct tension ensures the shutter rolls up and down without jerking, binds, or putting excessive strain on the motor or manual drive.

Why tension is important?
Roller shutters rely on a counterbalance mechanism (often a spring) to balance the weight of the shutter curtain. If that mechanism isn’t properly tensioned:
-
The shutter can hesitate or stick during movement.
-
The motor or manual drive must do extra work.
-
Components wear out faster.
A tension wheel is often also called a charge wheel in roller shutter terminology. Its job is to help set or hold the spring tension at the correct amount, so the curtain moves freely.
How it works (general idea)
-
The wheel is connected to the spring or drive assembly.
-
Turning the wheel increases or decreases tension on the spring.
-
Once set, it keeps the tension stable during operation, so the shutter opens and closes smoothly.
